Dorothy Lowe White

Dorothy Colleen Lowe White, 92, of Asheville, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at her residence. Born in Buncombe County to the late Karl and Alice White Lowe, she was a homemaker and attended Ecclesia Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Floyd C. White, Sr.; son, Floyd C. "Chuck" White, Jr. of Alexander; daughter, Susan Sluder of Asheville; granddaughter, Karen Filip; grandsons, Mark and Matthew Sluder; six great grandchildren, and sister, Betty L. Robertson of Georgia. A funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. Rev. Steven Norris and Gerry Dotson will officiate. Interment will follow in Gashes Creek Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Paula Massey, Susan Murray, Kathy Philbeck and Kate Brackett of CarePartners Hospice Home Care, as well as Dr. Marianne Soufas for their loving care of Dorothy.
