    Gary, Carol and Kelsey McDowell

  3. Dear Uncle Bill, David, Donnie, and Doug,

We were so sorry to hear about Aunt Dot’s passing. She played such a strong and loving role in our lives and she was such a loving and caring ‘big sister’ for Mom.

We wish we could be in Asheville to celebrate Aunt Dot’s life with you.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

The Anders: Joette, Bill, Ashley, Michael, Ana, Reba, & Chris Graber

  4. I will not mourn for as long as I will remember the love, the joy, the laughter that Aunt Dot and that back yard provided for so many of us for so many years. I will miss her and that gentle smile. The memories will last forever.

  5. Aunt Dot always told me that I was one of her own kids. I knew this. All the times we went to visit Dot and Bill, eat homemade ice cream, and eat aunt Dot’s incredible cooking… These make up some wonderful memories for me. Now, these memories live on in my mind, fondly. Uncle Bill, you know we all love you dearly, as you took care of Dot for so long. To Don, Doug, and David, I am sad for your losses, but am happy that she is no longer confined to a bed. I’m glad she was able to enjoy the roses from my yard a few weeks ago. I was worried that they would not bloom in time for her to see them, but they did, and I am glad.

  6. The Broome family,
I have such wonderful memories of ‘Dortha’ at Biltmore Med Assoc. She was such a fun & loving person to work with. Her faith was always present and her wisdom & humor was always shared. I have memories of cobbler & creamed corn. Her’s was the best. Thank you for sharing your mom with us for so many years. Our lives are richer for knowing her. I loved her.

  7. To all the family, especially Michael.
I am so sorry about the loss of Grandmother here, but she certainly is in a better place!
I will always have my memories of us going by at Christmas and eating all those treats she made and drinking the wassil, and the hamburgers we had at a cookout there in the backyard.
I will also miss the smile on her face and the hugs I always recieved when we saw each other!
She certainly was a sweet lady!!!

  8. Uncle Bill, David(Dosie), Don(Sharon), Doug(Gerry), Micheal(Candy), Melinda, Rodney(Laura), Kristin(Jochen) and Meredith….

It’s hard to believe that God called Aunt Dot home! What an amazing woman she was-with a wonderful impact on so many! I will always treasure the Thanksgivings we had at Dot & Bill’s! We piled in late from Greensboro-set up camp in their front living room-or as we got older we were allowed to sleep in the middle bedroom! Then waking up Thanksgiving morning to the smell of Dot’s out of this world cooking-ate, napped and then ate again! Finally Black Friday, she would fire up the Lincoln and we’d head out for the deals to be had at Asheville Mall! I’m so grateful to have had Dot as one of my aunts who treated me more like a grandchild than a niece! Steve and I will truly miss her, but are so happy that she is not suffering anymore and is with our Lord! What a blessing it is to know that she’s with Jesus. Love to all the Broome’s-we love you dearly!

  9. We are sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Broome. Please accept our condolences and let us know if there is anything we can do to help during this difficult time.

  10. Don:
Renee & I are sorry to hear about the passing of your Mother. Our condolences are with you and your family.
    Sincerely,
    Brian & Renee Price

  11. Jesus said to her,’ I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.’ John 11:25 Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family for we know she is in heaven no longer in pain, full of the peace that passes all understanding . We love you all. Take care and God bless.
    Yours in Christ,
Jeff, Kristin, Jeffrey, Jackson, Corabet, and Josiah Miller

  12. We are so sorry we will not be able to attend the memorial tomorrow. Mother and Daddy and I were very blessed by the visits with Dot and Bill and also with Dot alone. We were challenged and encouraged by her optimism and faith and hope of heaven! What wonderful memories Mother and Daddy have of their often hilarious times together! The New Earth will be a fun and exciting place when these old friends reunite. May you sense God’s comforting presence at this time. He is the God of All Comfort.

  13. Bill & Family,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Dot was such a beautiful lady inside and out. She will be missed by many.
You could always count on her when there was a problem. She & Dr Hill made a great team.
Our prayers are with all of you and may God bless you during this time.

  14. Bill and family of our Dot:
I thank God for the love you and Dot showed to me over 35 years ago.Our Sunday School Class at Grace Baptist was very unique with the your knowledge of the bible, our lessons, fellowship, love, and caring you showed us. Today we see a host of your students doing that same work sharing that feeling for God you gave us.Now I pray that Our Father will lift you up and carry you thru the next chapter in your life, with lots of memories left behind of our Dot, now the wonderful blessing we know she is in the Kingdom of God rejoicing over her entry.

  15. I carry a heavy heart for your families loss. I will keep you all in my thoughts and heart during this time of sorrow.

  16. Don and Sharon, I was sorry to read of your Mom’s homegoing, Don. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Gwen Self Sinclair (Sharon’s college friend)

  17. Dot was a beacon of Christian light and love. We were blessed in our youth to have the benefit of her wise counsel. She was steadfast in her beliefs and instilled in the desire us to be steadfast in ours. She remained true to the Gospel of Jesus even in the most difficult times. Her influence on all of our lives will forever make us mindful of what a Christian life looks like. I’m sure right now somewhere in heaven Dot has found a piano and is flipping through the Baptist Hymnal to find a
    song to play.:)
