Asheville ~ Earl Junior Edwards, 58, of Smooth Rock Trail, Asheville died on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 in a local hospital after battling a long illness.
A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Edwards was the son of the late Claude and Cora Lee Pate Edwards and was preceded in death by a brother. He worked at Asheville Bit-n-Steele for over 30 years. He enjoyed life and his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ruby Dixon Edwards of Asheville; five daughters, Sandra Aders of Port St. Lucie, FL, Earlene Reese, Liz Robinson, Penny Rodriguez, and Ann Weaver all of Asheville; four sons, Bill and Larry Weaver, Johnny and Thomas Edwards all of Asheville; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six sisters; two brothers.
A memorial service will be held Saturday 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with the Rev. Ronnie Owen officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Asheville Kidney Center Patient Services Fund, c/o David Cameron, 10 McDowell St. Asheville, NC 28801.

I WATCHED EARL TROUGH SICKNESS AND HEALTH AND HE ALWAYS TREATED ME THE SAME, THIS IS ONE PERSON I WILL NEVER FORGET.GOD TOOK ONE OF THE BEST MEN I KNOW HOME,NOW MAY HE REST IN PEACE
