Ebb C. Williams, Jr., 91, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the CarePartners Solace Center.

Mr. Williams was born February 3, 1929, in Spartanburg, SC to the late Ebb. C. Williams, Sr. and Ruby Lee Stroud Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Ruby Lee Cooper Williams, daughter, Angela Lee Williams, and brother, Gary Edgar Williams.

Mr. Williams was drafted straight out of Candler High School by the Pittsburgh Pirate organization and pitched for their Hendersonville farm club. American Enka recruited him for more pay to come to work at Enka where he played baseball and basketball for the Rayonites in the old Textile League. He worked with American Enka/BASF for 38 years, retiring as a General Manager. He was a member of Montmorenci United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his two daughters, Yvonne Kaplan (Bruce) and Donna Williams; three grandchildren, Richard Wilkey, Kimberly Owens and Sarah Alexander (Ron); four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Owens (Caroline), Matteo Perez, Marco Perez, and Levi Alexander; one great-great-grandchild, Hudson Owens; and a sister, Shirley Herren (D.N.).

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Karen Kurtz officiating.
