Guestbook

  1. Our visits to North Carolina and to visit our brother Marvin, now decised, and his loving wife Edith, will always be cherished. She was indeed a special person.

  2. My mother and all her brothers and sisters grew up with Edith and her family. She was in the same Sunday school class with my mother-in-law. We live around the corner from Edith and she taught me how to play dominos this past summer. We always talked on the mornings I was out on the front porch when she was walking. She was so sweet and I will miss seeing her. She was a special lady and my life was richer just by knowing her. You have been in our prayers, and will continue to be durning this difficult time.

  3. My prayers for your family at your passing but my rejoicing at your new life and home with the Lord Jesus. I did not know you, but if Sharon loved you, then you were a great lady!

  4. I can never begin to say what it has meant to me to have Gran in my life. From the time my children were just weeks old, she and dad came every Friday to pick up their grandchildren. They would take them home with them for a night of food, games, and special attention. My son wrote a paper in school where he stated ‘I wish I never had to leave.’ Their home was a respite. Edith cared for my father through years of cancer treatments. When the treatments failed she cared for him at home until his death. When he became ill she planned a family meal every Friday, which kept our family from becoming fragmented. Her counsel and advise benefited each child and grandchild. The ‘law of loving kindness was on her tongue’. Seeing her again will be a joy. She was a true blessing to all who knew her.(Heb 6:10, Acts 5:28)

  5. I WORKED WITH EDITH AND HER SISTERS FOR MANY YEARS AT THE CLIMATIC CENTER, BUT MORE CLOSELY WITH EDITH.
EDITH WAS SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL TO ME AS I ALWAYS HAD TROUBLE WITH ALL THE FORMS AND PROCEEDURES IN THE PURCHASE OF WHAT WE NEEDED. EDITH ALWAYS HAD A FRIENDLY JOKE OR SUGGESTION FOR ME.
EDITH WOULD CALL ME TO CHECK ON ME AND GIVE ME SOME UPDATES ON OUR FRIENDS.
THE LAST TIME I SAW EDITH WAS IN NOVEMBER AT MY MOTHER-IN-LAWS FUNERAL. IT WAS SUCH A PLEASURE TO SEE HER SMILEING FACE.
THE WORLD WILL MISS SUCH A GRAND LADY.
MAY GOD BE WITH ALL HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS!
    GLENN O’KELLEY

  16. Dear Kirby and Kathie,
Emilee and I will miss Granny Reed. We had such a good time taking her to breakfast. She was very special to us. She became Emilee’s extra grandmother when she didn’t have one.

  17. Aunt Edith (my husband’s Uncle was Marvin)was a very special person. We always had a good time when we visited with her. We were so glad to get together with Edith this past Summer. We will keep fond memories in our hearts.

  18. I wish to send my sincere condolences to you and your family. You are in my prayers at this sad time with such a tremendous loss.

  19. We have just learned of Edith’s death via a note from cousin Dot Smith. As Dot Hensley and family will know, we have not kept up our contacts with the Isaac Freeman clan as well as we would have liked. My father was Major McKinley Freeman, the brother of Isaac. Long years ago I remember visiting Aunt Polly and Uncle Isaac and family at their home (farm) in Emma. Those were good times, and we were much, much younger. I am the last son of Major and Bertha Freeman, and Dot is the last daughter of Isaac and Polly Freeman. I send the entire Reed and Freeman family our prayers for peace and good memories on this special occasion. Don & Ina Freeman

  20. Kirby and Family–My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of great loss. I fondly remember those teenage years when Gary Pressley, Ronnie Conner, Dale Evans and I were good friends with Barry. Edith was like a second Mom to us, I know you and your family will miss her beyond words. Rick Wilkey

  21. It was an honor to be friends with Edith. She is a precious lady and I will miss our monthly lunches that Kathy and I were blessed to have with her. I have so many fond memories with Edith that I will always cherish. I know she is smiling down from heaven on us today. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family.
    With much love,

  22. Our dear Sister in Law was truly a loving person. She always went the extra mile for those that knew her. We will miss her greatly.
