Edna Conner Dotson, 70, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at the Laurels of Summit Ridge. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Tina Marlow Conner. She was a retired Customer Service Manager from Ball Corporation. Mrs. Dotson is survived by her husband, Gary Don Dotson; daughter, Teresa Blackwelder and her husband, Terry, of Rock Hill, SC; brothers, AJ Conner of Asheville and Charles Conner of Black Mountain; sister, Elsie Benfield of Asheville; 2 grandchildren, Joshua Don and Allison Leigh Blackwelder. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Reynolds Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Dotson was a charter member. The Revs Bobby Smith and Stan Dotson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Gashes Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reynolds Baptist Church Building Fund, 520 Rose Hill Road, Asheville, NC, 28803. Groce Funeral Home, Tunnel Road, is assisting the Dotson family

  1. Don, Teresa and family, I am so sorry about Edna. I have so many wonderful memories of all of you for many years at Reynolds. I loved to hear Edna play the piano and for the trio to sing. Now she is singing and playing in heaven. May God keep you sheltered in His hands during this time.
