Guestbook

  1. The YWCA of Asheville will greatly miss Eleanor’s inspiration and beautiful smile. Some people come into our lives and stay in our hearts forever-Eleanor will be that way for us. Our deepest condolences.

  2. We will miss Aunt Eleanor and her strong commitment to community and continuing education. She was active until the very end, with a family trip planned to Grand Rapids later in July. In lieu of her presence on the trip, we will celebrate her life.

  3. Dear Lester and Family:
Eleanor was so special. She always had a big heart for anyone who was struggling. Her sharp mind always saw all sides of the issues. I shall miss her very much. She is a treasured friend for always. BJB

  4. I knew Eleanor by way of my former wife Bonnie Dyer. Having just lost my mom this past week I share your grief and pain.

  5. The community has lost a great heart and advocate. Eleanor’s spirit will live on in the lives of the people she touched through her good works and dedication to improving the quality of all lives.

  6. Eleanor Lloyd was in every wonderful way an iconoclast: she was the person in the late 1960s who gracefully showed an impressionable, sheltered teenager that a person didn’t have to limit himself to conventional paths. Eleanor proved that challenging the givens was honorable, deeply rewarding work. She was a radical in the best sense: she never tired of seeking what was just, fair and right.

  7. My heartfelt condolences to you as I will truly miss Eleanor. She brought such joy to me with her ever positive attitude and care. We became acquaintances as she came faithfully to our offi
ce each week for chiropractic care. She always had a smile and I enjoyed visiting with her and her stories about friends and family. I feel as if I have lost a dear family member and hope that your memories will give you peace at this sad time. With loving thoughts and prayers, Susan Walker

  8. Eleanor was a very civic involved individual that provided support to many of the agencies in the community and especially to those agencis providing services for the most in need in our community. I enjoyed my association with her and admired her work in the community.
