Elizabeth "Libby" Lunsford

elizabeth lunsford

Family and friends of Elizabeth “Libby” Joyce Fox Lunsford are invited to attend a celebration of her life at 5:00 pm on Thursday at Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Avenue.

Libby, age 65, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 due to complications from pneumonia and other health issues. It is only fitting that she was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Mother’s Day as she was known as “mom” and “Nana” to so many people throughout her life. She loved unconditionally and did for others with no desire for returned favors. Her door was always open to friends and family who needed a hot meal, a place to rest, a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, a warm, loving smile, and some motherly wisdom. Despite her declining health, she was the glue that bonded the family and could always be found on the sidelines cheering on her loved ones in their struggles and accomplishments.

Libby was the caring and devoted daughter of the late William Roscoe Fox, Sr. and Margie Holcombe Fox.

She is the cherished wife of over 48 years to Harry “Tommy” Lunsford. She is the loving and devoted mother of Angel Lunsford and fiancé, Stacey Robinson; son, Adam Lunsford and fiancé, Michelle Ivesdal. She is the dear sister of Mary Ruth Carpenter, William Roscoe Fox, Jr. and the late Wanda Darlene Currie and Bobby Darrell Fox. She is the adored Nana to Amber Elizabeth Taylor, Randy “Eli” Taylor, Hannah “Bear” Lail; and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

“A life that touches others goes on forever.” – unknown
