Ellis Ervin Fox, 81, of Candler, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Jackson Co., he was a son of the late Grover and Hattie W. Fox. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years, Alice B. Fox, and by 5 brothers.
Mr. Fox was a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church for 58 years, where he served as a Deacon. He retired from WLOS after 44 years. He was an avid bowler and instructor for many years at Sky Lanes.
Mr. Fox is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Merle S. Fox; children, Marlene Fox, Revina Fox, Keith Fox and wife Linda, Lena Fox Laughter and husband Joe, and Shannon Fox and wife Heather; step-children Heather Phillips, and Wesley Phillips and wife Rose; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday at Starnes Cove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charlie Sams officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday at the church, prior to the service.

Many fond memories… my Dad and Uncle Ellis always seemed very similar in values and we always had great fun when we visited together.
