ELMER E. TAYLOR Elmer Eugene Taylor, 58, of 551 Billy Cove Road, Candler, died Sunday, December 7, 2003, in an Asheville hospital. Mr. Taylor was born in Buncombe County and was a son of Edna Wynes Taylor of Candler and the late J.C. Rich Taylor. He was a graduate of Enka High School and was an Air Force veteran. He worked for the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department for several years and more recently worked as a private investigator. He attended Candler House of Prayer. In addition to his mother he is survived by two sons, Charles E. Taylor and his wife Kimberlee of Candler and Eric E. Taylor and his wife Laurie of Asheville; a step-daughter Laura James Dodd and her husband Bobby; a sister, Myrna Wilson of Weaverville; a brother Jerry Taylor of Candler; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 9:00 am Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Chuck Waldrup officiating. Burial will be in the Veterans Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.
