Ernestine P. Demaree

Ernestine Demaree, 91, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late J. Ernest and Minnie Stroupe Plemmons. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert D. Gilliam in 1968 and her second husband, Allan C. Demaree in 2006. She was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School, Class of 1945, and Cecil’s Business College, Class of 1947. She was a member of Oteen United Methodist Church. She retired from the VA Medical Center after completing more than 21 years of service as a secretary. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mountain. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
