Ethel Hall Mitchell, 82, formerly of Fairview died Saturday, December 7, 2002, in an Asheville
hospital.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late William L. and Arie Luduskie Hooker Clontz. She was also preceded in death by her husbands Hoke S. Hall in 1972 and Lawrence H. Mitchell, in March, 2002, and by nine brothers and sisters. She
retired in 1972 from American Enka
and was a member of West Asheville
Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Arnold Hall and his wife Joyce of Candler; one grandson, Travis Hall
and his wife Angie; two great-granddaughters AnnaKate Hall and Emma Hall; three sisters, Florence Denny of Salisbury and
Edna Peritts and Lorena Williams of
Atlanta; and a brother, Wade Clontz and his wife Dot of Salisbury.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Ken Lewis and David Tucker officiating. Burial will be
at Piney Mountain United Methodist
Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Travis Hall, Eddie, Nathaniel and David Clontz, Mark Hannah and Stephen Whitt.
Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and request that
memorials be made to the Building

Church, 926 Haywood Road,
Asheville, NC 28806.
Ethel was a very dear and close friend to me and my family. We shared many good times together. I shall always remember her. I miss her dearly. You are in our thoughts and prayers, Ethel. We love you.
