Eva Lucille Matthews, 71, of 63 Bingham Road, Asheville, died Friday, July 8, 2005, at her home. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie James and Sadie Irene Franklin Matthews. She was a member of Bingham Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include four children, Elizabeth Henderson, Darlene Hill, Randall Henderson and Roy Dale Henderson all of Asheville; a sister, Myrtle Soloman of Mississippi; two brothers, Herbert Matthews and Delbert Matthews of Candler; ten grandchildren, Ashley, Jenny, Brandy, Kelly, Jeremy, Dawn, Larry, Matthew, Daniel and Roy, Jr. and fourteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Bent Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
