Evelyn Ray Ward

Mrs. Ward had lived in Buncombe County for most of her life and was affiliated with several churches as a  prayer warrior.  She attended the Gospel Taberbnacle and was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 49.  She was a cosmetologist and also worked in the office of Dr. Hope Xenakis.

She is survived by her husband, Arnold Edward Ward;  by a daughter, Denise Harper of Atlanta, GA;  a son, Timothy Keith Ward of Jacksonville, FL;  her mother, Delpha Church Ray;  two sisters, Bernice Stancombe and Joyce Roberts;  a brother, Carroll Ray, and two grandchildren, Jonathan Ward and Matthew Harper.
