Evelyn Ray Ward

April 2, 1938 ~ June 5, 1998

Funeral services for Evellyn Ray will be at 11:00 am Monday, June 8, 1998, at Groce Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Eugene Dodd will officiate and burial will be at Ashwelawn Gardens of Memory.

Mrs. Ward had lived in Buncombe County for most of her life and was affiliated with several churches as a prayer warrior. She attended the Gospel Taberbnacle and was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 49. She was a cosmetologist and also worked in the office of Dr. Hope Xenakis.

She is survived by her husband, Arnold Edward Ward; by a daughter, Denise Harper of Atlanta, GA; a son, Timothy Keith Ward of Jacksonville, FL; her mother, Delpha Church Ray; two sisters, Bernice Stancombe and Joyce Roberts; a brother, Carroll Ray, and two grandchildren, Jonathan Ward and Matthew Harper.
