Favis Lee Lowery
November 4, 1931 ~ February 24, 2002

Mr. Lowery was born in Haywood County and was a son of the late Rev. S.C. and Clara Henson Lowery. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Thurman Lowery.
He was a graduate of Rosman High School and of Blanton’s Business College. Mr. Lowery was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired after 35 years with Champion Paper. He attended Pole Creek Baptist Church.
He was a loving husband and grandfather and is Survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Lou Pressley Lowery; two sons, Michael E. Lowery of Fairview and Phillip D. Lowery of Candler; and three grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, and Jacob Lowery.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral home with the Revs. Dennis Thurman, G.W. Jamison, and Arnold Vess officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to the Pole Creek Baptist Church, 96 Snow Hill Church Road, Candler, NC 28715.

He was the father that I never knew. I will miss him so very badly. I thank God everyday that Favis was in my life. HIs knowledge will go on with his grandchildren.
