Faye Mildred Walker Scott, 88, of Leicester, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Madison Co., she was a daughter of the late David and Ollie Buckner Walker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hillery Scott, and by sisters Edna Scott and Velma Reemes.
Mrs. Scott was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Gene Scott and wife Jean; granddaughters Debbie Hall, Robin Embler, and Jeffrey Embler; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Ralph Walker and wife Evelyn, and Carl Walker and wife Blanche; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Dear Gene & Mom, we know this is the most difficult time in your lives. Please take comfort in knowing you have been and will continue to be wrapped in our abundant love and prayers.
Gene and Jean, I know this is a very difficult time for you! We are never prepared to say good-bye to our Loved ones. Gene, for those of us that are left behind, I know the pain is great, but I hope you find some comfort in knowing your mom & dad are together again. Put your Faith in the Lord and allow HIM to heal and comfort you through your pain. I love you both very much, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers!!

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Faye was a wonderful person, I worked with her for many years and looked up to her as a mother figure.
I will miss my phone conversations with Faye. She and ‘Green Hornet’ were good friends to Charles and me over the years. Written for Loretta Plemmons.
