Florence "Flo" McCabe Bannon

Florence “Flo” McCabe Bannon was born June 15,1936 and passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025 in Fairview, NC.

She was Born in Queens, NY to Marion and Joe McCabe and raised in Jersey City, NJ with her siblings:

Florence was a fiercely driven and intelligent woman. She achieved her Master’s Degree in Nursing. She was predeceased by her beloved husband “Gene” Eugene Bannon who she worked alongside with at Jersey City State College. They shared a great passion for education and travel. Together they raised one son, Dennis Bannon, who also predeceased Flo. She was a big baseball fan and loved the Mets. Flo is survived by her sister Rosemary Fesen of Toms River NJ and her granddaughter Amanda Gene Lynch. She has 3 surviving great grandchildren: Amilyn, Luna and Bodhi of Palm Bay, Florida. She joins her 4th great grandchild, Soleil Leoni, in the afterlife.

Before her passing she shared that she was well-pleased with her life and that she looked forward to reuniting with her husband, her parents, her brother Joseph, and her nephew Matthew. She was also eager to reunite with her dog, Denten, and all of her cats: Kitty Katrina, Chetta Monette, Pinky, Mickey Mouse, Panda Bear, Tiger McGuire, Fluffy and Dusty. She will be laid to final rest next to her husband and son at Calvary Episcopal Cemetery in Fletcher, NC.
