Frances T. Hammer

Mrs. Hammer was born in Yancey County, was a daughter of the late Lewis and Jane McCurry Tomberlin, and was married to Franklin Clyde Hammer, who died December 1, 1999.

She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Delores Hammer of Newton, NC and Patricia Elaine Roberts of Decatur, Alabama; a son, Franklin C. Hammer, Jr. of Hickory; a brother, Grover Tomberlin of Mars Hill; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. James H. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
