Frank Foster Davidson, Sr., 85, of Candler, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Pisgah Manor Health Facility. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Albert Theodore and Lila B. Sayles Davidson. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Cooke Davidson who died in 2004. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years as a letter carrier and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Mr. Davidson was a member and Past Master of the Hominy Masonic Lodge and Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star, Electa Chapter #228. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and Korean Conflict. Surviving are two sons, Frank Davidson, Jr. and his wife Karen of Salisbury and Clarkson L. Davidson and wife Vicki of Candler; a daughter, Deana Warren and husband Randy of Clover, SC; four grandchildren, PFC Jason, Grace, Brendan and Meghan Davidson; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Davidson. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. with Rev. Todd Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military rites performed by the Buncombe County Veteran’s Council. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Pisgah Manor and Oston Park Health Care Facilities. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church 875 Monte Vista Rd., Candler, NC 28715 or to one’s favorite charity.

  1. Frank was in room with my husband’s dad at Aston Park and also with my uncle at Pisgah Manor. I would go in and speak to him when visiting my Dad who was there as well. He always was smiling and had a good attitude. Also remember him from being a band parent at EHS years ago. Thinking of you in prayers and thoughts. Carolyn and Gerald Stamey
