Frank Green, 74, of Asheville, passed away at his residence on Sunday, August 21, 2016.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Jonas and Rachel Green. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorine Jinks Green; one daughter, Donna Lynn Alsip, as well as one brother and two sisters.
Frank worked for 45 years at American Enka (BASF) and was a member of Sweeten Creek Freewill Baptist Church for 48 years. He was always dedicated to his family and his church, never missing a service.
Frank is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Goodlake Green; two daughters, Barbara Searcy and her husband Mike, of Old Fort and Angela Green; one son, Mitch Green and his wife Jill, of the Atlanta area, as well as eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Rev. Sam King and Nathaniel Drake officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oakley.
Flowers are appreciated, but for those who choose, memorial donations may be made to Sweeten Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
I always loved spending time with Uncle Frank, he was a way cool guy.

I have been in Church with Frank and Nancy for many years. Bpth so very dedicated. Frank taught Sunday School as long as I can remember. Please know You’re in my prayers.
