Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I’ll always remember those cold nights with the live Nativity scene at Skyland Church. Fred was a true Friend and I love the family. May God spread His love in your loss.

  2. Dear Cleo,

We are deeply saddened by Fred’s death. In reflecting about him, we have experienced many warm memories of both of you at Skyland United Methodist Church, as well as at others times through the years. You were some of the first people we met at Skyland Methodist after we joined and we admired you then as being among a group of loyal Methodist leaders that formed the backbone of the Church as it experienced dramatic growth. We have felt close to you as friends, although we’ve been apart for the last few years, and extend to you and you family our heart-felt sympathy during this time of sadness and loss.

  3. My name is Pamela Smith, I am a daughter of Mabel Pace Justus and granddaughter of Spurgeon and Lona Pace. I did not meet Mr. Jones but had met Reba and Ann at McCall reunions. I received a copy of his book ‘Darkness comes in the Morning”, and loved it. I remember in Granddad’s house there hung a picture of Belton Jones and often wondered who he was, finally I asked Granddad and he told me all about him. Mr. Jones’ book gave me and my siblings new insight into our grandparents early life and how special Belton and Fannie were to them. I will regret not meeting Mr. Jones in this l life but hope to have a sit down conversation with him in heaven. God Bless.

  4. Cleo,
May you be surrounded by your loving family during this difficult time. Fred was such a loving husband, father, and interesting man. God Bless!

  5. Dear Jones Family, I was Fred’s administrative assistant in Research at American Enka when I first finished school. The girls were teenagers. He was a gentle, laid back, brilliant man who taught me to learn everything I could. I will always cherish his mentoring. You are in my prayers as you adjust.

  6. Dear Cleo and Family, Prayers for you and your family at this time of loss of Fred. I always admired Fred, he did not have many words to say but when he spoke it was always valualable to me. God bless you Cleo and your family. Love and Blessings, Jan

  7. Dear Jones family, I am sad to hear of Fred’s death. He was such a sweet person. I loved his book and my parents were mentioned as they lived with Aunt (great) Fannie for a short time after Belton passed away. I knew and loved Fannie from visiting with my mom. Each member of the family will be in our prayers during your this difficult time. We love you and God Bless

  8. My heart felt condolences to this special family. Sending love and prayers especially to my dear friend Sandy in this time of loss. <3
