Freddie Mitchell Hopper, 78, died Sunday, October 26, 2014, at the John F. Keever, Jr., Hospice Solace Center.
Mrs. Hopper was born in Asheville and was a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Ellen Bean Mitchell. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and had worked as a secretary at BASF.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James M. Hopper; two sons, Kevin Hopper (Carol) and Kurt Hopper (Sherry); three grandchildren, Taylor and Thomas Hopper, and Tiffany Welborn; and three sisters, Debbie Walser, Donna Meadows and Sharon Embler; and caregiver, Susie Webb.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Chaplain Dr. Buddy Corbin and Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
