Fredricka Owenby

Miss Owenby was a daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Maggie
McAbee Owenby.  She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Christine Whitaker, Gertrude Wesley and Alene Grant, a brother Benjamin Owenby, and two nephews, Jackie Bruce Wesley and Frederick Whitaker.

She was retired after 45 years with Sayles Biltmore Bleacheries and was
a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Alma Twiss and her husband George of Fairview and Elizabeth Lawter of Mills River;  a twin brother, W. Fred Owenby and his wife Ruby of Fairview;  six nieces, five nephews, a number of great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Day officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Nephews will be pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue where Miss Owenby will remain until being placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
