  1. To The Walkers and the Metzgers:

My thoughts and prayers are with the your family. I have known Gail since Aug 1968 when I first went to Fletcher and the Walkers would come visit her sister, Judy.
In Aug 1970, Gail came to Fletcher as a Freshman. Gail was always funny, adventuresome, witty, friendly, outgoing and loved by all. Gail knew no strangers.
Some years later, Mrs Walker babysat for my children and gave my oldest son a ride to Pisgah Church School. I would run into Gail at the Walkers house, Foster and Fairview Churchs, etc and she was always the same friendly Gail.
Gail will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

  2. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Please accept out heartfelt condolences.
    Jeremy Shea and family

  4. My Dear Walker Family,

My heart is heavy for you as you experinece this loss. I just loved Gail. It didn’t matter how much time went by between the times we saw each other; she always welcomed me as a neighbor and friend. She saved my life once when I was going to ride my bicycle right into the path of a car. I’ll never forget the times that I spent at your house. I was more than your neighbor. You welcomed me into your home as if I were one of you. My thoughts and prayers will contine to cover each and every one of you.

    Love Always.

  10. To all of Gail’s family –
It has been my pleasure and delight to have worked with Gail on the Mother/Baby Unit at Mission. I have never known anyone to bring such laughter and fun to a nursing unit. We were all so saddened today to hear the news of the loss of our dear friend and coworker. I have been richly blessed and honored to have known and worked with Gail. May God be with you all during this time.

  11. I can’t bring myself to say goodbye to Gail because she will always be a part of me. We immediately became best friends the moment we met in the first grade, 45 years ago. Since that time, we have shared many, many stories and secrets as well as laughter and tears. Gail was and is my inspiration. She was a woman of great faith and strength, even as she endured hardships, sickness and pain. Gail was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and she was outstanding in each of these roles. She had a tremendous love for all of her family, and she was so very proud of her children and grandchildren.

But for me, she was my very best friend, and I am a much better person because of that friendship. I love her dearly and will miss her terribly.

For the family, I pray for God’s comfort and strength as you go through this difficult time. May God bless you all.

  12. Dan & I share in your sorrow. We are praying for your strength through this difficult time.

  13. To the Walker & Metzger Families:

May God Bless you all through this very difficult time. Even though I have not seen you all in while the Walker & Metzger family has remained in my thoughts and prayers everyday especially through Gail’s illness. My mother & dad (Homer & Martha) have so many fond, happy memories of Gail as they lived just across the road. They watched her grow up to be the beautiful, kind, compassionate person she was. She will always be in our hearts forever. Our prayers are with you.
