Gardner Mitchell Morgan, 66, formerly of Leicester, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the John F. Keever Solace Center, Asheville.
Born in Buncombe County, Morgan was a son of the late Max Gardner Morgan and Ruth Gasperson Morgan. He received his Associates Degree from NC State University, retired from Pepsi and was an avid farmer.
His family includes two daughters, Ashley Morgan and Jennifer Russell; a son, Shaun Morgan; four grandchildren, Alex, Abby, Averie, and Anna; sisters, Marcia Morehead (Rick) and Kathy Morgan; and a brother, Martin Morgan.
A memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, Leicester, NC, on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o John Towles, 40 Hayes Cove Rd., Leicester, NC 28748.

Marcia, Kathy, Martin & Family, I have such fond memories of growing up on Newfound with you. Gardner and I were good friends since grade school. I will miss seeing him from when he visited the farm. You all have my deepest sympathy.

I have many memories of growing up and going to church with Gardner and his family. A good family from a good community. Rest in peace, friend.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Gardner. He was a very likeable person. I knew him from delivering to Food Lion .
I absolutely LOVED Gardner!! He was a kind hearted, funny and caring man. I have alot of good memories of this sweet man to tell my son when he gets older. No matter what we were discussing about cattle he would always asked me about my son. He will be greatly missed.
