Garland Bryson Sorrells, Jr., 74, of Hendersonville, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Elizabeth House.
A native of Buncombe Co., Garland was a son of the late Garland Sorrells, Sr. and Ola Mae Searcy Sorrells.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Sorrells; daughter, Teresa Lynn Hass (Randy); grandchildren, James M. Cross, Robin Conrad (Nick), and Katelyn Tallant; great-grandchildren, Justin Norton, Tyler Norton, Brianna Conrad, and Aubrey Conrad; sisters, Carol Ann Hensley and Becky S. Webb (Gary); and brother, Richard Smith (Julie).
Funeral services for Mr. Sorrells will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Garland you will always be remembered and thought of regularly.you took care of me when i first started at SCM 17 years ago.we always had fun togther.you mad me laugh with that temper of yours.i sure will miss you buddy god bless you and your family.
I am honored and blessed to have known and worked with Garland. He was truly a blessing in my life and I will miss him. May God give you all peace and comfort to heal in your time of sadness.
Garland, I am so blessed to have had you as a cousin. As youngsters we played pranks on each other and I remember them vividly. We had so much fun at the beach and just visiting. God bless you and your entire family.
