Arden ~ Gary Richard Taylor, 51, of Edney Lane, died Friday, October 8, 2004 in a local hospital.
A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Taylor was the son of the late Geneva Hensley and Edward Wilma Taylor.
Mr. Taylor worked for Asheville Wilbert Vault Company and was also a former employee of Steelcase with twelve years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Tera Allen Taylor; a sister, Doris Taylor of Swannanoa; a granddaughter, Jessica Brooke Stafford of Candler and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard with Rev. Ernest Witten officiating.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
I am Gary’s cousin on his mother’s side, his mother and mine were sisters. I was so shocked to hear of Gary’s death. I had just seen him at another family member’s viewing, his cousin and my brother, Paul Simmons. Tera, please know that you will be in my prayers and thoughts. You have my deepest sympathy. I worked with Gary at Steelcase for several years. Please accept my condolences. Gary was a very nice person to be around. We are very sorry at Steelcase to hear of his passing. God bless you and your family.
Tera, I was so sorry to hear of Gary’s death. I will always remember him and his dad staying with my family when he was a little boy while his sister was in the hospital. He was a great guy. His cousin, Carol Taylor
