Gaston Robert Brackett

Gaston Robert Brackett, 81, of Asheville, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Gaston and Estelle Townsend Brackett. He was also preceded in death by wives Sue Worley Brackett, Janice Brackett, and Peggy Brackett, sons Michael and Terry Brackett, and sister Virginia Woods. Mr. Brackett was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He is survived by daughters Sandra Frisbee, Molly Surrett, and Mindy Lynn Brackett; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister Ruth Wright; and brothers James Ray Brackett and wife Linda, and Frank Brackett and wife Margaret. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
