George C. 'Charlie' Lamb, III

April 24, 1930 ~ May 23, 1998

Funeral services for George C. 'Charlie' Lamb, III, will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 26, 1998, at Skyland United Methodist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Arnie Corriher will officiate and burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Lamb's family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, and request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Skyland United Methodist Church, Givens Estates United Methodist Retirement Communiity, or to Mountain Area Hospice.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, by two daughters, Laura Sword and Linda Kamisol; by his son, George C. Lamb, IV, and by nine grandchildren, Charlie, Christopher, Joseph, Jesse, and Joshua Sword, Robert and Matthew Kamisol, and Tyler and Bryan Lamb.

Mr. Lamb was an Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict and was retired from the Asheville Citizen-Times newspaper.
