I played basketball with George up until a couple of weeks ago and I can say for certain, he did not play like he was 87. Always was ready to give it his best when he was on the court. Sure will miss him. My prayers are with his family for the loss of a good nature Syracuse Orange Man.
Dear Madeline and Family, I was so sorry to hear about George. He was a special friend that was a member of our group that meets for breakfast at McDonald’s each morning. ‘The Table of Truth and Wisdom’ was so glad to have George join our group and share his love for his beloved Syracuse. His big smile and friendship was a blessing and he will be missed by all. I am sure I am speaking for our group in saying, we will be praying for you and your entire family in the days to come. Sincerely, Bill Waddell

Sorry to hear of George’s passing… I’ve know George for many years at the Y — It’s good to read some about his life and family – my condolences to you all. George was a interesting conversationalist and an interested listener… On the BB court he was a always the competitor… a bear with a big heart. He was one of the legends of the ‘Legends’… He will be missed. God bless you all.
Madeline – I am saddened by your loss – I enjoyed our time together watching SU, playing basketball or golf. George was always engaged and fun to be with. His passing will be a big loss to this community and to his friends and family – I miss him and wish you and your family the best.
Will miss you Uncle George! I will always remember that camping trip you took us all on when we were kids. Tubing was the best!
I was saddened just yesterday to learn from Madeline that George has passed. I only knew George for a few years through email/telephone conversations…I was one of his ‘condo family members’, but he seemed like such a very nice and caring man. My deepest sympathies are with you Madeline and all of your family for your loss. I am sure he will be missed by all of you and your community. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Carolyn Brown
