Fletcher – Georgia Creasman Burrell, 92, went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 04, 2013 surrounded by her family at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Burrell was born on March 8, 1920 to the late Ernest P. Creasman and Mattie Moore Creasman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Troy M. Burrell; a daughter, Jeane Delight and several brothers and one sister. Mrs. Burrell loved her family and enjoyed gardening. She was a member of Biltmore Church of God. She is survived by her four children; Edith B. Croom of Spartanburg, SC, Betty B. Dotson of Oakley, Brenda B. Joyner of Fairview and Jimmy L. Burrell and his wife, Alice of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister, Margaret C. Laughter of Rutherfordton; 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Biltmore Church of God in Asheville with Reverends Dale Whitson and Daniel Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Gashes Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Asheville, NC 28801. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

  4. We are so sorry about the loss of your loved one. What a pleasure it was to sit at the beauty shop and talk with her for such a long time. We sure did miss her when she had to stop coming. We would talk about the Lord and her family whom she loved very much,her gardening, and everything. She just enjoyed living. One thing for sure, she is with the Lord today and out of her suffering.
