Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. God speed Mrs. Nettles. You have and will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks for 7th grade memories at Balfour School.

  2. Beloved teacher, treasured friend, loyal confidant – you will remain in our hearts forever.

  3. I am so very sorry and ashamed for not visiting Mrs. Nettles. There is no excuse. Immediately after Aunt Eula’s death I didn’t believe I could bear to talk with Mrs. Nettles about her last days. Aunt Eula had not known me for a couple of years, and although her passing was finally a blessing, the loss to me was unbearable. Then Mama had two heart attacks, emergency hernia surgery, and the months passed. She is still with us here at home – will be 92 in November. Her diabetes has escalated – receives insulsin 4 times a day. Have had several occasions when I have found her in a diabetic coma. Blood sugar drops unexpectedly and apparently without warning. I have been with her constantly. Allison left for NC State last fall and will be returning next week – hopes to attend the vet school. —– I will never forget Mrs. Nettles or her influence in my life. She was always interested, willing to listen to anything & everything, ever supportive, never reproachful -provided humor and gave sound advice. I loved her and have missed and will continue to miss her.

  4. One of my fvorite teachers at Balfour School. With fond memories!!! May the Lord be with the family!

  5. Will forever remain in my heart.
A wonderful lady who taught values, principals, morals, and challenged her students to be and do their best.
The world has lost another ray of sunshine.
    Thanks for the memories!!
    God Speed, Mrs. Nettles!!
