  11. So many wonderful memories! We are so fortunate to have had Harold as a friend. He had a wonderful sense of humor….always fun to be with. Montine, we are keeping you, Rick and Scott in our prayers. With love and thankfulness for a wonderful friendship.

  12. Dear Montine, I was very saddened to learn of your loss. Since the first time I met you and Harold, you both have always had a special place in my heart, and a part of my ‘extended ‘ family. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and I will never forget his smile, laughter and kindness.
    Love and Prayers, Coletis

  13. Mr. Wooten (Harold to most) was a great guy and good friend. It seems I’ve know him forever – all Toni and Rick’s married life at least. Had great fun joking around with him – always quick-witted and usually got the last laugh. We will miss him.

  14. Dear Montine,
Jerry and I were so saddened to hear of Harold’s death. He was always so kind to us. You both were such a pleasure to be around. Harold will certainly be missed. You will be in our prayers.

  15. Montine — I am sorry to hear of Cousin Harold’s passing. I did not know him really well. But I do remember him and my daddy (Harry P. Wootan, Jr.) always kidding around about their similar yet different names. Each thought the other didn’t know how to spell the family surname. They always seemed to have fun together. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family

  16. I knew Harold Wooten only from working with one of his sons (Scott). Based on this friendship and knowing the quality man that Scott is then it is obvious to me that Harold Wooten was a GREAT dad. Men like him, especially husbands and fathers, are in short supply and he will be missed by anyone whose life he touched.

  17. Dear Montine, Scott, Mary, Alezandra, Duncan, and the rest of the Wooten family,
Thinking of you in your time of sorrow. You were certainly blessed to have such a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He gave so much of himself in serving our country in three wars and two different branches of service. He was quite a hero.May the wonderful memories remain with you always.

    Love,
    Lynn Hunnicutt

  18. It’s harvest time in the mountains, time to gather in the best fruit. In a few minutes, I’ll leave Hartwell to join Mother and Betty for Harold’s memorial and the celebration of his rich life.

Our loving, lasting gratitude to Harold and to you Montine, Rick, Scott, and families. May God bless you and yours richly and often!

    Rita Jarrard Holcomb

  19. -Ten hours later; I returned to Hartwell around 6 pm and in the sunlight. -Know you’re bone tired, Montine.

I can’t express how fitting and complete Harold’s service was-so much to reflect on and learn from.
I’m so glad we could be there.

    Much love,
    Bless you! Rita

  20. Montine and Family,
I remember Harold so well! He always had a warm greeting for me at Dahlonega UMC. Even long after i left Dahlonega, when i would return his smile and friendly hello were so welcoming!! Harold made me feel like i had never left. Now he and dad are singing in the same choir. Two Silk worms had a race. They ended up in a tie. 🙂 God bless us all.

  21. I was so sorry to hear of the passing of ‘Chief’ Wooten. I thank Toni for contacting me. I passed the information on to all of my air force friends who knew Chief Wooten. He will be greatly missed by all. I always had great respect for the Chief. He was a motivator and a mentor. It sure was great that Harold and Montine were able to travel to our 62nd/87th FIS Reunion up at the old K.I. Sawyer AFB, MI. They were both able to speak to some of their dear friends from the K.I. Sawyer era. It was very special for me to hear that he was coming to our reunion. The Chief also passed on some of his air force collectables to the museum located on the old base. I will never forget Chief Wooten. He was a friend and great leader of young airman.
Lani Duquette, Crew Chief, 62nd/87th FIS

  22. Montine,
When we returned from enjoying 2 weeks in Gulf Shores we found the announcement of Harold’s passing. So sorry we couldn’t be at the memorial service but wanted to say how much Wendel and I appreciated you and Harold and feel the world has lost one of it’s best.
    Our love to you.
    Helen & Wendel Long
