Harold Roberts

Harold Roberts, 88, of Leicester, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
A native of Buncombe Co., Harold was the son of the late Raymond and Julia Frisbee Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Roberts; and former spouses, Esther Jeanette Roberts, Ellen Roberts, and Shirley Gossett Roberts.
Mr. Roberts retired from the NC Department of Transportation, earning distinction for his highway landscape designs. Over the years, he enjoyed beekeeping, deer hunting, restoring old cars, and making transportation trips for Ken Wilson Ford.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his daughter, Pam Roberts; son, Jimmy “Dale” Roberts (Debbie); sister, Mary Taylor; and brother, Kenneth Roberts (Annette).
His family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church, Leicester. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Allen Rash will officiate. Burial will then follow in the church cemetery.

You will be very missed sweet neighbor Harold! Always so kind and nice sharing a warming smile. Some of my favorite memories are having you help out at the tomato packing house helping me pick out “bad maters” and you coming over to get your Schnauzer‘s few years back when they ran off! First it was Fritz and then Zack.
