Suzie,
Mom and Dad told me of Hattie’s passing when they arrived at our house on Friday afternoon. Please know that they both would have certainly been at her service had we not been celebrating Mom’s 78th birthday this weekend.
I remember your mother fondly and she and Margaret and Jim Hutchison were great friends.
Please find comfort in the care of friends to help see you through this time.
Fondly,
Daren Hutchison
Dear Suzy,
Today we received some mail from some relatives in Asheville, and enclosed was the newspaper clipping concerning your mother. Had we known in time, we would have driven to Asheville for the services. We are so happy that we got to visit her last spring when we took Dad to Durham for treatments.
You may not know, but Dad (Hershel) went to be with the Lord on February 11. After 39 trips to Asheville, we brought them to Madison since Dad’s increasing health needs were too much for Mother to handle. She is here with us now. You can view Dad’s information at the Groce website also.
Suzy, we wish to express our sincere sympathy in the loss of your mom. How wonderful to know that she and Dad are rejoicing in Heaven! We will always cherish the fond memories of being neighbors for many years on Fairfax Ave.
With our love and prayers,
Jim, Peggy, and Mom (Lois)
Please accept my condolences on the loss of Ms. Hattie. I am Lillie Mae Williams grandson (Roses son) and I met her on many occasions while visiting. I want you to know that I don’t believe my grandmother would have made it at Hawfields without Ms. Hattie. May God be with you and your family.
Kevin Wynne and family
We both send our sympathy to you and while we share your sorrow, we know that you made your mother’s life richer and happier.
Suzie, My deepest Sympathy at this trying time. I loved your Mom very much. I wish I could be there with you but at this time I am just unable to travel. My love and Prayers are with you. If you ever get to Las Vegas give me a call Dan has my number. Love You Dallas
Mrs. Engleman was a quiet presence, As a 7 or 8 year old, I always loved being at her house with Suzi. And she made great cookies! My warmest thoughts & hopes that you will remember all the good things. I know she will be missed.
