Herbert H. King

Herbert H. King, 82, of 119 Ramsey Road, Asheville, died Thursday, July 7, 2011. Mr. King was a native of Buncombe County and was a son of the late Wilkie and Artie McElreath King. He was married to Lillie King, who died May 10, 2011. He was a farmer and a truck driver, retired from Dave Steel Co. He is survived by his sister, Hilda Gatch, a brother, Wilburn King and his wife, Margaret, and several nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. with the Rev. David Warren officiating. Interment will be private. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Emerald Ridge Nursing Home for the care they provided to Mr. King.
