Herman Leroy Robinson

Mr. Robinson was born May 30, 1904 in Madison County and was a son of the late Pinkney and Eliza Bailey Robinson. He was married to the late Easter Grant Robinson and was a retired textile worker. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church of Belmont.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Julia Fisher Robinson who died in 1947, an infant daughter, Dorothy Robinson who died in 1936, a sister, Ellie West and two brothers, Dexter Robinson and Lamar Robinson.

Surviving are a daughter, Jean Burrell and her husband Wayne of Fairview; three grandchildren, Ricky Burrell and his wife Debra of Swannanoa, Sheri Bakken and her husband Steve of Unicoi, TN and Shane Burrell and his wife Angie of Asheville; eight great-grandchildren, Derrick Burrell of Swannanoa, Erin and Shelby Bakken of Waynesville, and Robin, Christopher, Joshua, Caleb, and Jacob Burrell, all of Asheville.

Graveside services will be 4:00 pm Friday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Fender officiating.

The family expresses appreciation to the staff of Fleshers Fairview Nursing Center and Mountain Area Hospice for their concern and care during his illness.
