Herman Monroe Banks, 90, of 16 Merritt Drive, Asheville, died Sunday, September 9, 2001 at his residence.
A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late Lewis E. and Eleanor Ledford Banks. Mr. Banks
was a retired self-employed truck driver and attended Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Nash Taylor Banks; sons, Charles Banks of Des Moines, IO,
Morris Banks of Asheville; step-daughter, Della Carico of Morristown, TN; step-son, Earl Garrison of Swannanoa; six grandchildren, three great-grandsons, two great-great- grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Revs. Larry Hunter, Lucille Hutchinson, and
Lewis Melton will officiate. Burial will follow in Sluder Cemetery.
His family will receive friends 7-8:30 Tuesday at the funeral home.
