Ida Lusk McLaughlin

Ida Lusk McLaughlin, 80, of 76 Hansel Avenue, Asheville, died Thursday, October 17, 2002, at her residence. A native of Transylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Emma Rogers Lusk. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Lee McLaughlin, who died in 1985 and by three brothers and three sisters. Mrs. McLaughlin is survived by five daughters and their husbands, Edwina Metz of Skyland, Hazel and Lawrence Branch of Icard, Carolyn and Richard Boone of Skyland, Shirley and Robert Creech of Fairview and Patricia and Steve Rathburn of Madison County; five sons and their wives, James B. and Mary Ann McLaughlin of Swannanoa, Eugene and Gloria McLaughlin of Asheville, Sammy and Jeannette McLaughlin of Swannanoa, Richard and Vickie McLaughlin of Swannanoa and Dickey Ray and Karen McLaughlin of Asheville; a sister, Edna Allen of Cashiers; a brother, Andrew Lusk of South Carolina; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Dean Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow at Pinhook Baptist Church Cemetery in Jackson County, NC at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
