Ione C. Johnson

Arden – Ione Christenson Johnson, 88, formerly of Horse Shoe, died Monday, March 20, 2006. A native of Garfield, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Andy J. and Anna Pierson Christenson and wife of the late Arnold L. Johnson, who died in 1998. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, John G.G. (Kit) Johnson and a brother, Richard Christenson. Mrs. Christenson was a member of the Living Savior Lutheran Church in Arden and the Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Kent City, Michigan. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Platt of Chandler, AZ and a son, John Johnson of Horse Shoe. Also surviving are a sister, June Christenson of Grand Rapids, Michigan and a brother, Elmer Christenson of Frankfort, Indiana; eleven grandchildren, John Platt, Justin Platt, Brad Platt, Jared Platt, Tiffany Anderson, Brennan Platt, Dane Platt, Rex Platt, Perry T. Johnson, Andrew L. Johnson and Sofia B. Johnson and thirteen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 24th at the Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Kent City, Michigan under the direction of the Hessel-Cheslek Funeral Home.
