Asheville – Ivan Harold Cohen, 78, of Ascot Point Circle, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 21, 2006, at his residence.
A native of New York City, he was the son of the late Samuel and Bessie Handelman Cohen and husband of the late Martha Ray Cohen, who died in 1987. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Cohen of Fairview and Claire Cohen of Tallahassee, Fla.; two granddaughters, Maggie and Rebecca Williams of Fairview and three sisters, Carol Jackson of New York City, Priscilla Billig of Long Island, NY and Sally Cohen of New York City.
A private family gathering will take place this weekend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brevard Music Center, P.O. Box 312, Brevard, NC 28712.
