Jack Arnold Sauer, 83, of Candler, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Mission Hospital.
A native of Cleveland, OH, Mr. Sauer was a son of the late Richard and Mildred Hogsette Sauer.
Mr. Sauer was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a pilot. He worked as a systems analyst for Owens Corning Fiberglass.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Pflaum Sauer; daughter, Amy Kisselburg; grandchildren, Taylor Sauer and Katie Duncan; and step-brother, Robert Swan.
Graveside services for Mr. Sauer will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler. Pastor Michael Kurtz will officate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
I started working for Jack on the farm and quickly became friends. He taught me so much, I will miss him dearly.

Bonnie Im so so sorry for the loss of your precious Jack. He was such a great man and adored you so much. You can rest in the assurances that you took the absolute best care of him possible and you will see him again. May God bless you and may you feel His peace in the days and weeks to come. I always have enjoyed helping Jack through the years, the visits, and good conversation. He will always be remembered as a great man. Sending prayers to the Sauer family.
Dear Bonnie and family, We were so sad to hear of Jack’s passing. He was such a sweet man, so kind and courteous to usd whenever we saw the two of you. The Lord has taken another good one to be by his side. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
We are remembering Jack today with love in our hearts and a prayer at the time of his graveside service. Our family is diminished without him.
I remember Jack for the kind wonderful person he was. Bonnie and I were great friends years ago
