Jack P. Crumley, 74, of 36 Oregon Avenue, Asheville, died Sunday, February 21, 1999, in the Hospice Solace Center.

Mr. Crumley was born in Lee County, VA, and was a son of the late Chesley P. and Mary Snavely Crumley.  He was an Army veteran, a member of the Asheville Wesleyan Church and was a home improvement salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hill Crumley;  two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Bob Effler and Cinda and David Reed;  a step son and his wife, Phillip and Debra Lowe;  a step-daughter and her husband, Donna and Stanley Bowling;  three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, six step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 1999, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating.  Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

  1. You have been gone for awhile now and you are still missed so much I miss your stories and hearing you laugh. I wish so much you could have met my son he would have loved you as much as I do. You were my grandfather even though we werent related. And I would love so much for you to meet my bride to be now you would have warned me about my first and I would have listened to you and I know you would love my new one. I know one day I will see you again untill then love ya grandpa.
