Jack Thomas Banks, 91, of Asheville, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Universal Health Care in Fletcher.
Born in Buncombe County to the late Homer and Flora Boone Banks, he taught handicapped children and was a veteran of the US Army.
Survivors include his son, Richard Mumm of Asheville; daughters, Patricia Harrell of Lakeland, FL and Andrea Hilley of Brewster, MA; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two brothers, Duncan Banks of SC and Orvil Banks of Clyde.
