  11. Thank you, Jackie, for your quick thinking and observing the trooper with a car stopped on I-40 west bound coming out of Burke County. Your identification of the vehicle led to the arrest of the two escapees from Tennessee who had killed three in TN and had shot NCHP Trooper Rector in NC. One of those was killed in a shoot out and the other was captured, tried in Marion (life in prison), and then tried in TN here he received the death penalty. The quick arrest of those two murderers was due to Jackie being aware and reporting a questionable situation. Jackie is a hero. Thank you again. Retired Sgt. Robert R. Corbin, NCHP

  17. Omg, where do I start. Big Jack has been such a great friend to me for so many years. I will surely miss the Saturday nights eating the good dinner he fixed and the many westerns we watched together. He told me the last time I came over on Saturday night, in February to watch our westerns, I was the only gal that loved them more than he did…and we always laughed and cut up talking all the way through the whole movie…If he was not telling me a funny story about my dad and his friends at the cab stand, it was something funny about Swannanoa before I was born…I learned so much from him…I will see you again one day my friend in heaven, you and sprowder…..I love you!!

  18. God Bless you with peace! You’ll never be forgotten. Deepest condolences to all your loved ones.
