James Aaron "Whitey" Lance, 61, of 10 Storie Book Lane, Candler, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at his residence.
A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of Hazel Parker Lance of Candler and of the late James Garrett Lance. He was a retired employee of BASF.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Patsy Massie Lance of Candler; his daughter, April Lance of Mobile, Alabama; his son, Keith Lance of Candler; a brother, Walter Thomas Lance of Candler; three grandchildren, Jake, Brandy and Garrett Lance and his very good friend, Ross Bradley of Candler.
No services are planned. His family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
