James Albert Hodson, Jr.

Mr. Hodson was born in Orangeburg, SC, and was a son of Dorothy Mae Spivey Hodson and the late James Albert Hodson, Sr. He was a retired manager for Marks and Morgan Jewelry and was a former state chaplain of the B.P.O.E., and member of the Masons, Shriners, and Scottish Rite. He was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda Marie Simmons Hodson; one daughter, Sherri Lynn Hodson Malpass and her husband Billy of Kings Mountain; one son, James Albert Hodson, III and his wife Eleanor of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Brandon Hodson, Amber Malpass, Chloe Long, David Hodson, and Autumn Malpass; one sister, Dottie Vice and her husband Mark of Wagener, SC, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 am Monday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Rev. Dr. J. Derrill Smith officiating.

His family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
