James E. Nutty, 91, of Arden, NC passed away peacefully December 10, 2025 after a long illness with Parkinson’s Disease. Jim was born in Peoria, IL to the late Charles C. and Mae E. Muller Nutty (Blumenshine).

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Diane C. Nutty; three sons: Michael R. Nutty (Gay Lynne) of KY, Jeffery K. Nutty of IL, and Craig A. Nutty of IL; Sister Gloria D. Gerber (Kent) of NV; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. His sister Joyce Hamas and husband Gene preceded him in death.

Jim was the retired President of Hannan Supply Co. in Paducah, KY. He and Diane enjoyed boating for many years, living on a houseboat on a KY lake for 15 years. He was active in Faith Fellowship Church in Arden, NC.

Donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

A Celebration of life will be planned in 2026.

  1. I worked with Mr Nutty for many years at Hannan Supply. I also knew Diane when they lived on the houseboat at the lake. CThey were sweet, wonderful, kind people. Prayers for Diane & the family.
