James Earl Moses, 85, died on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at his residence.

A native of Jackson Co., James was a son of the late Howard Eugene and Bonnie Love McElrath Moses. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Dalton Moses.

Mr. Moses proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from American Enka where he worked as a spinner and was a member of the Textile Workers Union. He was a great lover of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening.

Mr. Moses is survived by his daughter, Sharon Davis (Tim); sons, Chris Moses (Betty), and Randy Moses; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Pruitt (Chris) and Marie Dodd; and brothers, Paul Moses (Marty) and Bill Moses.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Gospel Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Jerry Hensley officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

His family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service at the church.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
